It was my first time for this Unity Program as it is also a so called "traditional" event that our prefect board will do for every year. FYI, I did not attend for this activity last year. I went somewhere else to enjoy instead of participating for this activity. What does this "UNITY PROGRAM" means actually?
-This is an activity which the OC's will be busy thinking of all kinds of challenging games for the participants(prefects) to build our team spirits to work as a team always and forever.
As you all know, I'm not a person who loves challenging activities. Never. So, I've already heard many "stories" about last year's Unity Program. Those activities they planned last year were not my cup of tea. I went "ewwwww...." when I heard about those disgusting game. Well, so this year I had been forcing myself to go as it was a compulsory and I didn't want to disappoint my group members.
The activity started at 7.45. Less than half of all the prefects turned up on that day. It was such a sad anyway because I felt bored and lonely throughout the whole activity. Li Sze was there, but we were in different group. So, it was a little hard for me to talk to her.
We, the participants were given a task to write a message to any prefects. There is a condition in this task: We were only allowed to write to the person without letting him/her knows that the message was from us. This activity was quite nice because we get to write to any prefects. We can tease, we can criticize, we can give opinions, we can comment or we can advise on their positive/negative side of them. It was an activity to us to speak out the truth in our mind about others. It took around half an hour before it was done.
All of us had our breakfast before the next activity started. This activity is named by Mission Impossible. Every groups were given 30 seconds to enter their own compound. We were given 50 balloons for this activity. Then, we had to fill the balloons with water. The girls in my group had to do this because my group was lack of boys. There were 5 persons turned up in my group, 4 girls and 2 boys(the group leader and the facilitator). The boys had to carry tables and benches for this game. They had a very long time arranging those benches for this activity. Which means we were given longer time to fill up all the 50 balloons before the game started. After that, we had to light up the candle given for us. We had to find ways to prevent the candle from extinguish when the other groups were trying to attack our group to make the candle extinguish. This game was not as fun as expected because we had to control our volume throughout the whole activity. Where is the fun that we were supposed to have during the activity? Being scolded for more than 1 time because we were being extremely high while playing. I thought there will still be some other games before the clock strikes to 1. Unfortunately, the Unity Program ended just like that after being scolded for being too noisy.
I could say that this year's Unity Program was very disorganized. But, there was something hide in between. Through this, I actually realized the importance of the team spirits that we should have with our partners/team mates. As we work as a team, we will always be bonded together. Everyone in the group has to be co-operated with one another to achieve success in this end. If one of your team mates was trying to create troubles or problems in achieving something, it will just ruin the whole team in the end. Throughout the journey to the success, everyone has to put in much effort to support so that the final achievements will be the best results that everyone can see.
Vincent Lombardi:
The achievements of an organization results of the combined effort of each individual.

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE
Just remember this:
You'll enjoy the activity when you think it is fun. So, why not just think of the brighter side so that your day throughout the activity goes on smoothly like what you have not expected.
Life is meant to enjoy ;)
